Princess Olivia

Princess Olivia in all her glory, lol. This dress was given to Liv by her Gma Tanya from Oregon - seen on the Christmas blogs during all our openings. She's been wearing the thing almost nonstop every or every other Sunday. She calls it her "Sleeping Beauty" dress and she ADORES it.

She wore it church yesterday to her new class and apparently her teachers said she was "adorable!" She eats up those comments like you wouldn't believe, lol.

She's also wearing the necklace from Aunt Linda - it was her lucky day, getting to wear all her new special things. :)

Last Christmas

Last year on the 23rd we went to see the lights at Temple Square, unfortunately, this year we won't make it because of how much walking in the cold is involved. With me pregnant and unable to do that much walking, and with Duncan still sick... not a good combination. Next year though! So because we can't this year - here's the blast from the past. :)

"playing toys."

Duncan takes toy.

Liv gets mad.

Duncan hides toy under body thinking this will increase his odds of keeping it from her.

Liv pulls and...

SUCCESS!

Ahh, the beauties of sharing. :)

jamas boy.

Ever since we received these pajamas from Jennifer, Cam's sister in NV - or as Duncan claims, from Brighton, he LOVES to wear them. NON stop. Pajamas in this house have really honestly become a "day in the life" thing. He just loves his "jamas".

the life of a short girl.

10.31.2008
from LG choc3

Liv is by far the shortest girl in her class - the next girl up is standing to the left of her in this photo. This was obviously taken on Halloween when they all got to dress up, and while it took Liv some warm up time, she eventually joined in on the fun.

Being a short one myself (though certainly NOT at Kindergarten age) I can hear myself already trying to think of things to say. On the bright side, being a short girl is much better than being a short boy, lol.

preservation: a blessing

Definitely a blessing we're not receiving this year with our poor pumpkins. I plan to keep them out as long as we can and hopefully light some tea lights inside (the kids are ECSTATIC over that part) before we leave to trick or treat on Friday... but we'll just have to wait and see. But these ones are definitely going to be throw-outs on Saturday.

The W. Jordan Trunk-or-Treat

Snow White and her Prince Charming got all dolled up to go trunk-or-treating at the West Jordan trunk-or-treat and we took photos before we left. Except that it was a mess-up and the trunk-or-treat (regardless of what the website said) didn't start until 5pm... it was just after 3pm. LAME.

We began the walk around, not knowing that it wasn't started yet, the kids got 2 Frisbees from some "be healthy" stand, and then they got a sheet of safety tips and a stuffed animal from another stand. Once we hit one of the people that actually was sitting there with her car she wouldn't let Duncan take any candy (he was a little excited) and explained what was going on. So basically our options were:

a) play for two hours and die of boredom before the dumb thing even started
b) go over to the carnival, which apparently was scheduled for 3-5pm and PAY to get in
c) go home and attempt to come back
d) go home, come back, and kill someone because there's no parking

Considering there were hardly any empty spots when we were leaving the shindig a little after 3pm, we decided on the third option and took a detour on the way home, picked up our produce from Ream's and the kids each got a $1 to spend on whatever candy they wanted. :) Honestly, it was instant gratification - they were in heaven, LOL.

And of course, we'll be trick-or-treating on Halloween as well! More then...
